Learn about Deer Lake State Park

Deer Lake State Park is named for the rare dune lake within its borders. This protected piece of land is home to many rare plant and bird species. A day pass to this slip of preserved nature allows you access to hiking, fishing (with a license), and picnic spots.

Visitors can hike one (or both) of their two trails with relative ease. Both trails are a mile or less and offer views you will not find anywhere else.

Pack up your street legal golf cart and spend the day on a quiet, preserved beach. This park has no restaurants, no shops, no unnecessary noise. Soak up the rays on untouched white beaches or sit under an umbrella with a good book. Eat a packed picnic with the family, making sure to leave no trash. Here at Deer Lake State Park, the fun is all in the nature, looking at the coast as it was before humans put their touch on it.

All you need is a well stock street legal golf cart and a bunch of sun screen!

Note: Changes are coming to Deer Lake! After a closure, Florida State Parks is adding some amenities to Deer Lake including restrooms and a paved road for easier access. Make sure to check out the Florida State Park website for updates.
